LabTool SW on PC is not detecting the LabTool HW. How do I solve the problem?

There are many things that can be done to try to solve the problem.

  • If the LabTool HW is connected to the PC via a USB-hub, try connecting it directly to a PC.

  • If the LabTool HW is connected to the PC on a USB3 port, try a USB2 port.

  • Try running LabTool as Administrator.

  • If running on a laptop, try running on a stationary PC instead.

  • When contacting Embedded Artists please provide the following information:
    1. Open the Device Manager on the PC. When first connecting the LabTool HW it should appear as an "LpcDevice". Does this happen?
      The LabTool PC SW searches for this "LpcDevice", if found then downloads the LabTool firmware to it and then reboot it. After that it should appear as a "LabTool" node in the Device Manager. Does this happen?
      Does the "LpcDevice" disappear when the LabTool PC program is started or is it still there?

    2. Please provide the installation log file. It is placed in the folder where LabTool was installed,
      typically "c:\Program Files\Embedded Artists\LabTool\install_log.txt".

    3. Please provide the LabTool log file. It is placed in the application data folder which depends on the user's name, but my file is
      here "c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Embedded Artists\LabTool\LabTool.log".

    4. Which operating system are you using? 32 or 64 bit? Language?
